Director, Learning Design Education Nova Academies Pioneer and Nova Academies are joining forces to build a network of high-quality, affordable schools across Africa. In 2016 we will be operating two schools in Johannesburg and one in Nairobi, and growing quickly from there.

Education in Africa has been decades behind the rest of the world — what if it leapfrogged several decades ahead? The problem is big so we’re dreaming big: changing the lives of tens of thousands of students by helping them build deep fluency in technology and science; learn by exploring and practicing rather than by memorizing; and develop a love of inquiry-based learning that produces a lasting growth mindset.

We recruit our teachers locally but are scouring the globe for rock star instructional leaders to join our team in South Africa and Kenya. We’re eager to find candidates who have produced amazing outcomes for students in rigorous, high-expectations school settings; who crave constant feedback; and whose joy is infectious when it comes to learning and helping others grow.

We have a variety of both network-level and school-based roles available for people who fit this bill: directly coaching teachers and future school leaders; helping drive our learning design and curriculum development; and architecting our professional development pathways and training modules. Example roles include:
